Mobile ApplicationThe COUNT THE KICKS™ App

We are designing a dynamic Phone App to help in the battle to reduce the 6500 Stillbirth & Neonatal Deaths in the UK each year – 17 babies are Stillborn or die shortly after birth each day in the UK – the majority of these deaths are preventable.

Introducing the COUNT THE KICKS™ “Empowering Mums-2-B” Phone App

The app will be a pregnancy support app with particular focus on movement/kick counting and life saving facts & information every Mum-2-B deserves to be made aware of throughout her pregnancy.

The App will be released on iOS, Android and WebOS at first, with BlackBerry, Symbian and possibly Windows Phone 7 to follow.

Key features of our App:

  • A calendar based application that links with significant dates throughout pregnancy, with prompts and reminders of important mile stones Mum should be aware of.
  • A check list of signs and symptoms to look out for in pregnancy. If Mum recognises any signs or symptoms, she ticks the box and if a number of linked symptoms are ticked, the App will recommend she calls her Midwife, GP or Antenatal Ward for advice and further checks.
  • A KICK COUNTING TRACKER which logs Kick Counting sessions and will alert Mum to any specific changes in regular movement patterns.
  • Ask AnnieExtracts throughout the various stages of Mums pregnancy from STEPHANIE CONNOLLY the author of THE REAL GIRLS GUIDE TO GROWING A BABY a warts and all, sometimes funny, but frank and informative guide through pregnancy.
  • “Annie” our fictitious Midwife who regularly pops up with hints and tips, such as prompting Mum before a clinic appointment to take her Antenatal Notes and a Urine sample with her. Also checking Mum is aware of certain symptoms to look out for at certain times. In later versions we will also have an “Ask Annie” feature, for Mums to ask for further information.

The COUNT THE KICKS™ “EMPOWERING Mums-2-B” App will be released on iOS, Android and WebOS at first, with BlackBerry, Symbian and possibly Windows Phone 7 to follow.
